Step 2: Create names
This step has nothing directly to do with the amortization table. This will just make the formulas in the table easier to create, read, and debug. ( It's also good coding practice. )
Highlight the Value and Variable range.
While the range is still hightlighted, from the menu select Insert -> Name -> Create
Select Right Column and click "OK". If Top Row is checked, uncheck it.
Notice now how column C2 is now called pv!! ( and C5 = rate, etc ).
Now in your formulas, you can use pv instead of C2.
